embrace life's imperfections

So... yeah. The season premiere of nip/tuck was on Tuesday night, and let me just say, there are few, if any, other shows on TV where it actually takes some serious mindset altering to jump back into. Last fall I started watching nip/tuck and ended up Netflixing both Seasons 1 and 2, while simultaneously watching Season 3. And let me just say, the show is fantastic. It truly is. The guy who created Popular also created nip/tuck, and that same skewering, dark comic banter is there, but on a much more intense level. Intense, if I had to sum up nip/tuck in a word, is it. After all, it's not exactly high school cliques we're dealing with. More like, plastic surgery, both cosmetic and reconstructive, in South Beach. Each consecutive episode, with where it goes and how it goes there, somehow blows my mind a little more.

So, after watching Christian pick up and have his way with a mother/daughter duo; Julia and Sean struggle with the fact of their unborn child having a serious birth defect; the latest patient receiving kiwi-sized testicle implants; Christian wrestle with his attachment issues and the idea that he may actually be in love with Sean; and finally, last but not least, Christian nailing his new therapist, played by Brooke Shields, in her office, I'm pretty much... speechless.

Favorite line of the night, though, spoken by a woman Julia met with, who has the same condition their son will have, and is successful, happy: "I've learned to embrace life's imperfections." I love that.

And I so cannot wait for next week's ep.

Ooo, I loved Joan Rivers on there, too! It might even have been Season 1.

Rosie O'Donnell is going to be on this season, and her role looks kind of great.

And it was totally porn. I agree. Ew.
