Dear abc.com,

Um, we really have to talk. Three episodes into Ugly Betty, it is safe to say that I am hooked, and seeing as my Thursday night lineup is sadly overfilled by well-established favorites, I have been faithfully watching Ugly Betty episodes online the day after. I'm okay with that. I'm grateful for the service, actually, and don't mind at all that the display box is tiny, and that watching from my computer chair isn't at all as comfortable as my living room. And I'm lucky to even have a broadband connection through Time Warner Cable so that I can effectively stream in the show. I'm willing, for now, to overlook the fact that TWC charges an arm, leg, and an extra pinky toe for a second DVR box, which I would totally have by now if I could, and then none of this would be a problem. Because you see, I'm having issues now with the downloading of Ugly Betty. It just won't work--at all. I've downloaded the proper software, I've closed and reopened browser windows, I've crossed my fingers, blown eyelashes into the wind, and taken hold of my lucky rabbit's foot. And it's not working. Nothing. I am now stuck having seen only two episodes of Ugly Betty, with the idea that I may have to wait it out and Netflix the season later, when it's all out on DVD. Don't you see that this is cruel? Don't you see that this doesn't work for me? It's unacceptable, really. Not being able (mostly in principle) to afford Showtime for the sole purpose of watching Weeds, or HBO for Entourage and Big Love, I'm afraid I can't hold out for another. I'm just saying.

So, in conclusion, if you could go ahead and either fix the website, my computer, or both, or better yet, revise your entire Thursday night lineup for this devoted fan, that would be great. Thanks.

xo,
penelope

Ooooooooh...thanks for the tip! I've been missing Ugly Betty due to not being at home on time. Hopefully they fix the site soon and I can catch up. I wonder if this online episode thing applies for Grey's?

As much as I love this show though, I do have to say...it's starting to feel a little templated. Daniel Boss futzes something up, Betty tries to help and gets thwarted, but ends up fixing it in the end. Enter creepy old shadow lady with some one liner, and cut to credits. Multiply by 18 shows?

I hope not!

PPS- do you think "McBoss" would start to catch on? Even though its the wrong show, earlier time slot? Because McDreamy is already taken...

It totally does apply to Grey's! And you should try it anyway, because at this point I'm really thinking it's some setting on my computer rather than the website.

I like McBoss, I like it. And I totally see the show formula...hopefully it won't stick. I still kind of love the show though. I love that Selma Hayek has those little telenovela cameos. I love America (the actress). And I love that the whole show is more painful weekly edition of The Devil Wears Prada.

America is really great, but the rest of the show I can take or leave.

Vanessa Williams is boringly evil, the boss is only slightly interesting, his father is as boring as he was on the OC, etc etc.

I love the lady from The Office who plays the Fashion TV Anchor, though.

I heard this show was sort of Devil Wears Prada-ish... is that true? I really like the star in the other things I've seen her in-- America Ferrara? I'm not sure of the last name. You are tempting me...

i just watched last week's LOST online yesterday - b/c my VCR flubbed up while i was away and only got the first one i missed... anywho, the site seems to be okay. it keeps saying my connection isn't sufficient for optimal viewing, but i just close that window and watch away. : ) today, i catch up on Grey's and Betty.
