Underwheres

I’m pretty surprised at the results of our sidebar poll! Who knew there were so many shovers-in-the-drawers. I myself am a semi-reformed folder and stacker—I fold out of habit, but then shove it in the drawer. Because what’s the point, really. Although, folding will allow more space in the drawer. My drawer’s so small, it doesn’t really matter what I do with my drawers. Ha ha, get it??

There is one day left to vote, people! Or maybe just half a day. Inquiring minds want to know.

I was a shover until my dorm room freshman year had tiny drawers, so they fit so much better folded and stacked. Plus they all get more equal wear :) Apparently I'm in the minority so far...

ah but the shovers also get equal wear, bcs they're all tightly crammed in there, it's an easy progress thru-- bcs that's when i do laundry. when they're all gone. and lets say i do something crazy like launder midway or buy more underwear i shove them behind the already stuffed ones. somethings i just need to let go of or not have time for. i'd never put away laundry if i had to fold and hang everything. one day i hope to design a closet full of bars and hooks... much more efficient and space saving then hangers.

I will say that I'm a shover (also used to wear them until I was out...then I had kids and was doing laundry all the time anyway...) BUT I fold my hubby's boxers and he puts them neatly away... is that weird?

i used to be a folder because my mom is a folder (socks too) and made me do it that way. for the longest time i thought it was the only way. then one day it occurred to me that underwear doesn't have to be wrinkle-free or anything like that. folding is a waste of time. and i have the same philosphy as mendacious - that's how i know it's time to do laundry. : )

I just wonder what it says about our personalities. Also, I wonder if I would still be a stacker if my drawer were deeper? Because GOOD POINT, e.j., I totally fold and stack the boxers. But that drawer is large in comparison.

I think I might be a folder AND a stacker, at heart.

Such intriguing questions. I wonder what our next poll should be.

I don't fold or match my husband's socks. We buy the large Costco packages, so it can be weeks before socks need washing. They go into great stacks, all the solid white, and all the gray toe and heel. It's up to him to pick two that match each morning.
