As you know, I'm a fan. But thanks a whole lot for bursting my happy bubble re: "Top Chef" and all the other food shows I like to watch. They exist to sell stuff, sure, but they are fun. I mean, they *were* fun, before I read this article.
Ready to hurl both my TV and myself out the window,

hmm, may I be a pest and request links show up in a different color so we don't miss out?

babes what is this article about? i dont want to read it but i want to know whats bumming you out.
Ha ha. it did take me like a half hour to read. basically, it dissects food shows, comparing the julia child show of yesteryear and how it actually empowered people to cook, whereas today's cooking shows are more like spectator sports that don't inspire people to cook at all. and that top chef and other shows that i LOVE exist mainly to sell stuff. which is true, ultimately, but still. he's so smart and right, but honestly it's such a buzzkill sometimes.
Just tell yourself you watch Good Eats to learn how to DIY and balance it out.
excellent, thanks! Now, I have blue for ones I haven't clicked on yet and yellow for ones I have, but both show up nicely.
And, glad for the recap, too, because I was quickly overwhelmed as well! ;)It left me thinking, "where does she find the time to read all of these articles and her books and blogs and emails and lexulous and kids and. . ." and feeling so inadequate.
Obviously I do all these things when I should be cleaning the house instead. ;) Heeheehee. But it's true that I would so much rather lay around and read Princess Diaries rather than dust every room in the house that has so desperately needed it for months now.
