Enclosed please find two adventures to the 'westside' I went on. One was to the Hammer Museum. Sarah took the picture below. And i like it! The 2nd is to this random place that allegedly serves the best ramen anywhere and Danica is slightly obsessed with it. It had really good pork in it and everything else i couldn't identify. The noodles were egg noodles? Which probably didn't contain wheat... i think? The best part of this adventure was that the tea bottle had a haiku printed on it: lily pads afloat, dull painted amphibians, practice evening music...
and the noodles were pretty tasty too. I give these adventures twothumbs up. Let me know if you have any questions.
Sincerely, M.

I have to know what's really in the bowl.
me too! heh.
ok, the bright green stuff is shallots/onions, the red thing seemed to be some pickled berry with a big pit in it, the light grey is the pork, the dark green is seaweed- and then the off color yellowish stuff was gross and i don't know what it was and that white/pink thing- who knows...
also turns out eggnoodles are wheat- explains my upset stomach later in the evening- but it was tasty going down.
i remembered your question about tempura while i was at trader joe's last night and so i looked at some frozen shrimp tempura ingredients. the batter definitely was full of wheat. sorry. :(
also, my word verification is "unwhismi" which i first read as "unwhimsy" and thought, no no, this blog definitely contains whimsy. even a little magic. : )
